Jane Marie + Alex - Nashville, Tennesee
Loews Vandebilt Hotel
Back in December, we had the opportunity to travel to a city we love - Nashville - to spend the weekend with Jane Marie + Alex.
We arrived for their rehearsal dinner at the Bound'ry in Downtown Nashville that Friday evening.
From the second we stepped into their rehearsal dinner that evening we felt the love between these two families.
And after listening to around five (yes, five, these two are so very LOVED) hours worth of the most amazing, heartfelt speeches given by their friends + family members...we knew that we were going to have the most amazing weekend.
And we did.
From the second we were contacted by Alex's mom about filming their wedding
(Ps. We want to take a second to say we LOVE when parents of our bride & groom are just as - if not more- excited about having us there to film for their sons/daughters! It's the best!)
we felt 100% honored to be asked to be a small part of such a special day.
On the day of their wedding, we were able to grab a few shots of both the bride + groom before their first look.
Jane Marie had the help from her momma + bridesmaids as she got into her beautifully detailed bridal gown.
And, simultaneously, across the hall, Alex was getting ready to see his bride for the first time as he got ready alongside his best man.
From there, Alex was led to the lobby of the Loews Vandebilt Hotel, where he waited eagerly for his soon-to-be-Mrs. to walk towards him for the first time.
First looks are very special for a bride + groom.
They're a treasure.
Being able to see one another before ANYONE else is a priceless treasure to hold onto during the wedding day. It's a great reminder that, no matter what, the only thing that matters that day is standing right in front of you.
Because JM + Alex chose to have a first look before their ceremony...it also meant we also had a little time to do bridal shots before we walked down the street to the Cathedral of the Incarnation to get ready for a sweet ceremony.
This is one of the most beautiful cathedrals we have ever visited.
The cathedral, itself, is 93 years old + full of rich, beautiful history.
Their catholic ceremony was filled with beautiful readings, taking of communion, and the most beautiful rendition of "The Prayer" sung by the bride's cousins.
After the couple was pronounced husband + wife, each of their guests were invited to spend the evening celebrating their marriage at the beautiful Loews Vandebilt Symphony Ballroom.
When we arrived we immediately started to capture all of the intimate details.
The ball room was beautifully decorated in winter shades of red + white.
So classy + timeless. A beautiful representation of the love between Jane Marie + Alex.
This couple, together, is what we like to call a power couple.
Individually, both Jane Marie + Alex are two of the most intelligent people we have ever met. They're both so well-spoken, classy, +cultured.
Their love story began while the two were studying at Centre College years ago.
Jane Marie studied law, while Alex studied medicine (he is currently doing his orthopedic surgery residency at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. )
We love what Jane Marie's maid of honor beautifully stated about them in her speech:
"There's not much that Jane Marie + Alex aren't good at. They've successfully jumped through countless professional hoops to get to where they are today. However, what is lesser known is the hoops they've jumped through to be together. Jane Marie + Alex are adventurous, curious people. When Jane Marie wanted to travel to Ecuador during Alex's last year at Centre, she did it, with Alex's blessing and without hesitation. When Alex pursued a rotary scholarship in Australia, they made the relationship work by talking long-distance. They are encouraging of the others desire for adventure + supportive of the others independent nature."
There's no denying that they were made for one another.
Just seeing the way this groom looks at his bride is enough to know.
(And melt your heart. For real.)
We had a blast with these two! We loved watching their "Mini Mama" busting a move on the dance floor, we loved getting to chat with the groom's sister + the bride's cousins, we loved getting to work alongside their photographer, Paul Wharton, and we loved their beautiful sparkler exit!
A huge thank you goes out to Jacki of Jacki Lynne Events for helping bring the bride + grooms vision to life! Everything was amazing + the night could not have been better. If you're in the Nashville area...hire Jacki Lynne Events to help you plan your dream wedding!
